Marion’s Kitchen Sweet Chilli recipes

Known as nam chim kai in Thailand, sweet chilli sauce provides all the flavour of chilli without the accompanying heat. Try using it as a dipping sauce, a marinade or as an option for family members who find hot chillies a little too much.

What is Thai sweet chilli sauce made of?

Thai sweet chilli sauce is a delicious condiment used often in Thai cuisine. It is spicy, sweet and all around delicious. It contains red chillies, garlic, sugar, fish sauce, vinegar, salt and some sort of starch (potato starch or cornstarch work well) to thicken it all up!

How do you make sweet chilli sauce?

Thai sweet chilli sauce is surprisingly simple to make! It takes about 25 minutes from start to finish and your homemade sauce can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 weeks in an airtight container.
