What is cashew chicken sauce made of?

 The sauce for cashew chicken stir-fry contains light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce and chilli for an added kick. As the name suggests, the dish is of course finished off with cashew nuts and can be made even easier with the use of Marion’s very own cashew chicken meal kit for when you need your fix, fast!

 

Is cashew chicken Chinese?

There are a couple of types of cashew chicken, originating from a range of different countries. Our version of cashew chicken originates from Thailand. The dish is a staple in Thai cuisine and isn’t quite as saucy as its Chinese counterpart – but is just as delicious. 

There is a Chinese-American version of cashew chicken, but our version is the tried-and-true Thai version of the dish to reflect Marion’s heritage. 

 

Is kung pao chicken the same as cashew chicken?

Kung pao and cashew chicken are not the same, no. However, they do share similarities – they’re both nutty stir fries (and they’re both pretty darn tasty, if we say so ourselves). Kung pao is cooked in a chilli and roasted peanut sauce, while cashew chicken is cooked in a slightly sweet, brown soy-based sauce with roasted cashew nuts.
