Beef Bulgogi Lettuce Cups

Beef Bulgogi Lettuce Cups

Ingredients

2 tbsp finely grated pear

3 garlic cloves, finely grated

2 tbsp brown sugar

¼ cup soy sauce

1 tbsp sesame oil

2 tbsp sesame seeds, plus extra to serve

¼ cup finely sliced spring onion, plus extra to serve

500g (1 lb) beef mince

1 tbsp vegetable oil

kimchi, to serve

finely sliced cabbage, to serve

mint leaves, to serve

lettuce leaves, to serve

Steps
  • Step 1

    In a large bowl, add the pear, garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds and spring onion in a large bowl. Whisk until combined. Add the beef and mix until well combined. 

  • Step 2

    Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large frying pan over high heat. Add the beef mixture and spread it out in the pan. Allow to sear for 4-5 minutes or until a deep brown crust forms. Flip the beef over in chunks. Sear for another minute before breaking the chunks up with a spatula. Stir-fry for another minute or until cooked through. Transfer the beef to a large plate and sprinkle with a little extra spring onion and sesame seeds. 

  • Step 3

    Serve with the kimchi, cabbage and mint…using the lettuce leaves as little cups.

So tasty !!!

I made the marinade with ground pork . And , also tried as originally posted with ground beef .

My husband can’t digest beef very well . Both meats were delicious with this Marinade !!!😋

This was so good

I’ve never had lettuce wraps but I have had those little delicious cloud buns with bulgogi many times at a local korean food truck so I was excited to make this! It was super fast and super delicious! Everyone loved it. We ate half a head of lettuce between the 3 of us! The only bad thing was the kimchi we bought from the store. It was mild and not good! I’ve made my own better but it takes forever! Thank you for making lovely recipes. Also I just love your smiling face and watching you make the dishes. It makes it extra fun!
